Hazardous Occupation Training
H.O.T. training is Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Graham County 4H Building beginning at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Pre-register by Monday, April 28, 2014.  $15 for manuals, lunch and refreshments provided.  For youth ages 13-15 who will be working on a farm.  To register call: Trego 785-743-6361, Ellis 628-9430, Gove 938-4480, Norton 877-5755, Sheridan 675-3268, Decatur 475-8121, or Graham County Extension Offices 421-3411.  Student needs to bring Student Tractor Manual, pens, and pencils and the assignments are required to be completed prior to class start-up including review of manual and completion of worksheets.

Certification will be presented to participants who meet all of the following:
1. who attend all sessions
2. who complete the required assignments
3. who successfully complete a tractor safety exam
4. who safely demonstrates the ability to operate a tractor and all its controls according to safe operating procedures under the supervision of a parent or employer
5. who are 14-15 years of age (others will receive certification at the time they turn 14)

Edit 4H Photo Adventure Camp 2014
June 14 thru 17th, at Rock Springs 4-H Center.  Registration fee is $195 for youth and $215 for adults.  Parents and 4-H Volunteers are invited to attend camp and learn along with the youth.  Enrollment is limited so don't delay in registering.  Register online, registration closes May 1, 2014, go to: http://www.kansas4-h.org/p.aspx?tabid=317.
Photo Adventure Camp is an intense, exciting four day photographic experience for teens age 13-16.  Cameras, teens, and a camp theme of "Images with an edge" will combine to explore and capture camper's vision  in both new and traditional activities.  Talented and dynamic volunteers will provide hands-on instruction enabling many new skills to be learned.

Edit The Kansas 4-H Sportfishing Tournament
Open to all 4-H members.  The contest runs throughout the year and ends September 15, 2014.
One 4-H Angler of the year will be named in each of the species listed below. These are fish commonly found in Kansas waters.  Each Angler of the Year will receive a 4-H Sportfishing cap and tackle box with fishing gear or comparable prizes (one per individual). All participants that enter a certified entry will receive a 4-H Sportfishing cap (one per individual).
The following species will make up the contest:
Specie         Minimum length for entry
Catfish        15"; Sunfish 6"; Crappie 10"; Black Bass 15"; Carp or Drum 15"
